Franklin P. Smith welcomes you to visit the Smoke House where stories will be told every month.  The stories will range from those about
‘real’ life which occurs around you to children's stories which could (and probably do) apply to the behavior of adults.

At first the style may take you by surprise.   Critics have commented that they have never seen or heard words put together
quite the way these stories do.   They compare these stories to those of the great writers of the past - like Hemingway, Mark Twain,
O’Henry, and John Updike.   These stories bring forward the situations. feelings and emotions of ordinary people; they speak in
the voice of every day.

The above is bold statement, but when a writer brings the inner emotions and feelings of the reader or listener to the surface, they
have done what seems impossible.  A dear friend told me something when I began to write: “If you write, write something powerful and
meaningful, or else you will be wasting the readers’ time and yours.”   That is what I set out to do.  At times I have been
astonished. for people have remembered one of my stories and told me so - three or even ten years later.  This has happened many times,
with numerous people, and with a wide variety of the stories, so I have come to believe it is more than a freak accident.  I confess.
Hearing it makes me proud.  I invite you to read the stories, to listen to them, and to judge for yourself.

Enjoy the audio with each new selection every month in the coming
year.  I hope you will enjoy some of the stories and see, if not
yourself, some other people you know and grow a bit in appreciation of
how they live.

If you want to know about the stories or about Franklin P. Smith, I will have video on ‘you tube’ (previews of the coming stories) and
data about myself on ‘my space’ and ‘face book’.  Come on in.  Have a seat.  Let me tell you a story.

"The Quilts of Love is a series of stories that seek to close the gap between those who offer and those who receive needed help. It gives voice not only to the gifts given but also to the hands that made them and the spirit that motivates human kindness and charity."
